Kontaktovala mě nejprve. Tvrdila, že po přihlášení do školy může přijít do USA na studentské vízum. Řekla mi, že před několika měsíci pracuje v Austrálii. Řekla, že studentské vízum neplatí za všechno a od mého dopisu požádalo o 300 dolarů. Stala se velmi naléhavá a dokonce mi poslala nahé fotografie sebe sama s jejími žádostmi o peníze, které jsem nikdy nepožádala. Obvyklá část podvodu je důležitou lhůtou, během které musí obdržet peníze nebo nemůže získat studentské vízum. Všichni podvodníci, kteří mě kontaktují, nikdy nekomunikovali za čtyři týdny a 300 dolarů je nyní nejčastější částkou požadovanou v dopisech. Přestala jsem jí psát a ona pokračovala v posílání e-mailů a požadovala, abych jí posílal peníze prostřednictvím služby Western Union nebo MoneyGram.
